I don't usually cook on this night. Most of the time we have something
quick and portable like a sandwich because I never know when the kids will be at the door. This year I'm doing something different. I have a box of gluten free hamburger helper. It is the cheesy hash browns kind. I know... I know... I can't remember the last time I ate hamburger helper. But I was still living with my parents. I was always horrified that my mom would waste her money on the stuff. And recently she confessed that she used to love the stuff which I guess is why we ate so much of it. I don't think I've ever tried this flavor. They have two kinds that are gluten free. The other is a fried rice which I know Angela would love, but it has peas in it and she is allergic. I bought this mainly because Angela found it and it says it is gluten free. If I remember correctly, when made as directed it has 5 servings with 19g of carb per serving. I plan to add some extra meat and cheese to lower the carbs even further. Angela can watch the door while I cook. I suspect that she will not go out Trick Or Treating this year. If she does, she won't go to many houses. There is not much sense in her doing so since she will likely be allergic to whatever she gets. |
