Chocolate Mint

When I planted my herbs this year, I found some chocolate mint. Decided to
give it a try since I'd heard it tasted just like a York Peppermint Patty.
And indeed it does! I've just been picking off the leaves and eating them
when I get a craving. I highly recommend it if you can find it. It looks
just like peppermint or spearmint except that the leaves have a brownish
tint.

Chocolate Mint

I had some of that too but it died, I think. I had 4 kinds of mint at
one point (spearmint, peppermint, chocolate mint, and pineapple mint)
and the spearmint has crowded out most of the other 3.

The pineapple mint is cool (I still have some of it) - really does
taste like pineapple and it has variegated leaves so is very pretty in
the garden.

Yes, it's in a planter box along with some peppermint and spearmint.
Amazingly all are doing well. I've tried repeatedly to grow mint with no
luck at all. Last year I started some from seed and they were doing well
until we had an unexpected and late in the season cold snap.
