Then why the feck is he trolling? You expect someone with a PhD to have
grown out of that kind of playground behaviour.

BTW, give me one good reason why I would know who this otto idiot is?
He could've been someone from, say, the usage.english newsgroup who knows
sod all about usenet's history OR computers (hence his stupid comment about

(see "Internet sock puppet") but forgetting to change his username . . . .
This was an act of stupidity meriting a name of its own, and because the hapless
contributor's username was Danks, the term "dank" or "danked" emerged.

2. Playgrounds are fun.
3. I dropped more clues than Blue's Clues.

I've not encountered that one before. And I've been using usenet since '95.
Obviously we move in completely difference circles, so to speak.

At least I don't have to put up with noel edmunds sticking his head round
the door with a cheap gold coloured trophy shouting Gotcha!

When crossposting to 3 other newsgroups, expect people not to know your
culture of trollage or understand what the **** you're talking about half
the time.

You do understand other newsgroups don't act the same way as you? Or was it

Of course we expect some people not to know our culture of
trollage -- it makes our job that much easier. On the flip
side, it is a lot more satisfying to troll some bozo who is
aware of trolling and swallows the hook anyway because it
was so skillfully dangled.

I should, however, explain the different types of trolls.
Kibologists are gentleman trolls -- it is only a practical
joke which we eventually reveal to you. The flaming and
insult trolls that just like to stir up trouble and tempers,
common on sports or political groups, are just assholes,
and they never go away (at least not till they quit posting
to the group).

Personally, I view it as community service, much like picking
up trash by the side of the road. Once someone has been
trolled by a Kibologist, they're far less likely to be
a pompous asshole in the future. Also, it generally makes
them wiser and less likely to believe any old crap just
because someone says it. I think a healthy dose of
skepticism is good for society, don't you?

I AM GOOD FOR SOCIETY, DAMMIT, UNLIKE MCGONNEL.

That's why picking COLA as one of your crossposts was such a masterstroke.
WE only have the lying cheating argumentative type of troll.
(We call them wintrolls cos they actively support microsoft at the cost of
their integrity and honesty)

Your lot were a little too subtle for this newsgroup so it took longer to
twig, so to speak.

(Might I recommend the windows xp advocacy newsgroup, it's reputed to be far
worse than cola)
