I only watched the opening part of the show, rolled my eyes and then
turned it off. I think this is going to go the way of emeril’s
sitcom. Man the networks must be desperate.

The current NewYorker has an article by Bill Buford (he recently
published HEAT : AN AMATEUR'S ADVENTURES AS KITCHEN SLAVE, LINE-COOK,
PASTA-MAKER, AND APPRENTICE TO A DANTE-QUOTING BUTCHER IN TUSCANY) on
the FOOD NETWORK. Haven't had a chance to read it, yet.

It's interesting. I've seen Rachel Ray once. She seems to do extremely basic
things for people who can't cook, and make a big deal about it. I don't get
it, frankly.

which turns out to be an actual pay-TV channel, and Rachael Ray in
particular, who I had mistakenly concluded was some sort of comic parody
of cooking shows. Anyway, I have now been set right. Apparently what

Everything in the US is about selling things. Rachael is no worse than
any other TV star. Food Network sells commercials. Rachael sells
various products that she endorses.

Prolific doesn't mean she's any good at what she does. She just does
it louder and in a more obnoxious manner than most. She's the epitome
of dumbing down in this country.
