Through various web sources I've found the following recipe for
Chocolate Spiders. I'm wondering if anyone in RFC has tried them, and if so, does it have to be cruncy peanut butter (I just picture that making some lumpy looking spiders)? Also, about how many spiders did you get? I want to make these for a Halloween party. Thanks! Chocolate Spiders 1 pkg. crunchy chow mein noodles (100g/3.5 oz.) 2 Tbs. crunchy peanut butter Cooking chocolate, milk or dark (200g/7 oz.) Microwave chocolate and peanut butter in microwave safe mixing bowl for about 30 seconds on high. If not melted, then microwave again in 5 second intervals. Mix well until it is a smooth paste. Add noodles and coat them well. Spoon the mixture onto grease-proof paper or into individual paper patty pans. Place in refrigerator until set. You can also give these spiders eyes by sticking chocolate chips onto them. Tip The spiders can be kept in a sealed container in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. They can be kept in freezer for even longer time. -- "Little Malice" is Jani in WA ~ mom, Trollop, novice cook ~ |

I make mine without peanutbutter at all. ![]() -L. |

Allergic to peanuts...what could be substituted for peanut butter?
The same question applies for all of those lovely Asian dishes with peanut ingredients. Has anyone substituted with good results? Has anyone substituted with good results? If your allergy is solely to peanuts, you could sub another nut butter. TammyM |

Why not use peanutless peanut butter...I am not sure of the brand name but
it is in our grocery stores. Carla "Suburbomom" > wrote in message oups.com... > Allergic to peanuts...what could be substituted for peanut butter? > |

No PB. I'll probably still use the creamy peanut butter, just because I like the taste of it with chocolate -- kind of like No Bake Cookies. Although these are for my Aunts' annually Halloween party, I'll just *have* to try them myself. ;-) > They used red-hots for the eyes. They looked REALLY eerie! What a great idea! Thanks, Jude, I'm going to try that... -- "Little Malice" is Jani in WA ~ mom, Trollop, novice cook ~ |
