Default Beef Stew with Mustard Dumplings

Penzeys has this recipe in the new catalog. I made beef stew yesterday
and saw this recipe today..rats! The dumplings replace the traditional
potatoes and they sound really great with beef stew to me. Has anyone
here made this recipe or mustard dumplings?

The recipe is here.

Yes a teaspoon of mustard powder is not enough mustard for me. I would
add an additional mustard ingredient or two like yellow mustard and Dijon.

I love the idea!

I made Beef Stew Friday using my recipe, but then made the mustard dumplings
from the Penzey's recipe. I make the dumplings large, they don't replace
the potatoes.

The celery seed and mustard lent an interesting flavor - I would probably
increase the mustard to 1.5 tsp next time.

============
My mother always made dumplings for my father's stew, he liked his stew
thin; not thick, and then he would have the dumplings in it absorbing the
juice of his stew. I never heard of mustard dumplings though. If you like
dumplings, they would be worth the try.
