Paula Deen is on FoodTV right now in my time zone. "Nigella Feasts"
will be on at 1:00 pm. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/tv

Thanks for the heads up - now I can finally see what all the hype
is/was about. Is this new programming or reruns from whatever channel
she was on before?

I just watched it. I have her book, Feast, and the recipes are in
there.

I noticed that FoodTV is making her wear a jacket sometimes, which
strikes me as odd, since they tend to want to exploit the chests of
people like Giadia... And they seem to be doing more closeups of her
face...rather than the rest of her body... Are they scared? LOL

But for the most part, it is the same old Nigella....

I laughed when I heard refer to the ground beef as a "mother........."
How did they let that stay in?

New programming. She is using recipes from her latest book, Feast.
And I have the book..I got it about a year ago.

Strange that it would be on later for you. Nancy and I had it on at
the same time....

Oh, I wouldn't assume FoodTV had anything to do with
her wardrobe like that. They don't seem to be that controlling.

I recorded it, I will have to watch for that one. How funny.

Perhaps this will help.

When it's on depends partly on how it is distributed. Cable comes from
your local company, satellite is broadcast to the whole US at the same
time.

Texas is in the Central time zone, two hours behind the East Coast. So
when the show comes on at 1pm in New Jersey, it is 11am in Texas. You're
both watching it together, but calculating the hour differently.

You're welcome. I hadn't expected it to be on during the day
on a weekend, for whatever reason, so I was surprised.

Central is one hour earlier than Eastern. There are schedules for
the different time zones on the FoodTV website -- but they are
essentially useless if you are getting satellite TV, and probably
cable -- there is no particular reason why any given source shows
things at the time they do. Timezone related schedules originated
for broadcast TV (or, more likely, radio); they are obsolescent in
current technology.

In other words, NONE of the "schedules" help very much. :-)

I knew one of them was two hours away. :/

Comcast here is Utah has adjusted its scheduling within the last week,
claiming that programming will now be aligned with the west coast feed
and Pacific time zone. Before that, we received Food TV, sensibly, as it
was shown on the East Coast, thus two hours "ahead" on the clock -- if
it was played at 7:00 PM ET, we got it at 5:00 PM MT. But now that we
are coordinated with the West Coast we, see Food TV programs an actual
three hours later -- if it plays at 7:00 ET, we get it at 8:00 MT.

Meanwhile, other channel time adjustments have resulted in a real-time
change of only two hours -- if it plays at 7:00 PM ET on *these*
channels, we see it at 7:00 PM MT. When I queried Comcast about this,
they had no explanations.

Really liked her. Only saw one show of hers a few years ago, haven't
seen any recently.
