I never watch this channel but tonight I am taping some stuff off of it for
a friend of mine... I am sitting here trying to listen to _Iron Chef America_ while I'm on the computer. One thing I notice is that the VOLUME level between the shows and the ads is HUGE, I have the volume on so I can just listen to the shows, but the when the ads come on they are BLARING (and they are the worst type of ads, they are those wimmin - oriented witless "lifestyle ads"). This aural juxtaposition is worse even than the local Chicawgo low - rent stations that cater to the welfare stay - at - homes...SHEESH! -- Best Greg |

Usually we let the PVR grab most programing for later viewing w/o commercials. If I am watching live programming I find that I almost always have to constantly adjust the volume to lower commercials on most programming. |

It was against the law (in the USA) for a commercial to be louder than the main programming, but that's no longer true on cable TV, if I'm not mistaken. Andy |

It is annoying. FoodTV is by far not the only culprit. Then you add in Billy Mays or that window commercial, geez you have to dive for the remove. Am I going to buy something because, hey, they have that great loud commercial!? nancy |

And it's not a fancy TV ![]() Jill |

When Rachel Ray came on there was little difference in the volume levels between her show and the ads...of course some consider her show to be nothing much but an infomercial anyways ;-) -- Best Greg |

A lot of the cable networks are guilty of the same thing especially Spike TV. There is a huge difference between the show volume and commercials. |

But the weird thing is they seem to think I'm going to buy their product because they crank up the volume. I generally hit the MUTE button - who wants to hear all that? |

Commercials are loud and annoying! kili |
