Ya-shore-hoop-dee-doo! Throw in some lefse and lutefisk and it's a
party lol

My Norwegian grandparents used to make some sort of blood pudding, I
wish I could remember what they called it. Yikes!

LOL. True:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frikadeller
That name also reminds of "frikandel", a name I read so many times in
Amsterdam, and in fact also dutch frikandels are meatballs, or croquettes.

Sorry, Dutch frika(n)dellen (both spellings are common) are a kind of
sausage, made with the cheapest indredients and served deep fried, with mayo
and/or ketchup, sometimes satay sauce. They are thought of as VERY cheap
food and taste of factory.
Kroketten are croquettes; ragout with a bread crumb crust, then deep
fried. They can be very good, both in flavor and in qualtiy of ingredients.

In Germany, Frikadellen are meat balls, I believe (aka Bouletten in Berlin).
Made from ground beef and/or pork.
Lots of condusion when peopel from one nation order frikadellen in the other
nation

They're very good. Far more flavorful than Swedish meatballs.

That's a surprise. Norwegian food is not well know for it's flavor! I
can say that too, cause i'm 50% Norskie.

I was also going to thank you for posting this. DH is seriously LI in
the worst possible way. He can't even have derivatives like casein &
whey, so this is something I can definately make for him.

Might just be the Swedish meatballs I've eaten. They've all been
blander than bland.
