Default Marathon Bars

Since candy has been a subject lately, thought I'd ask. Saw a candy bar
the other day called a Marathon- think it was a type of Snicker's.
Anyone remember the Marathon bars they had in the 70's? It was like a
caramel "braid". I saw one in a Long's Drugs a few years ago in the
British section, but it was made by Cadbury, I think, and it was called
a Curly Wurly. What about 7-Up bars? 7 sections, all different flavors.
Ok, one more thing- is it just me or does Donald Rumsfeld remind you of
Simon Bar Sinister? He was on the news last night, and he is really
creepy!

Oh yes, I remember those -- AAMOF, I was just jonesing for one of
those the other day. One of the few defunct candy bars that I really
miss. I even remember the wrapper being red. :-)

That I don't recall, as I never liked 7-Up soda, so I probably never
tried the candy. 7-Up meant I was sick, in my house.

ROFL!! OMG, I haven't thought of Simon Bar Sinister in years -- I
was a big Underdog fan in primary school (early 70s). Yeah, Rumsfeld
*does* remind me of him. Thanks for the laugh, Merry...

"There's no need to fear -- UNDERDOG is here!" *g*

What killed me, even as a kid, was that Wally Cox did Underdog's voice!

Marathon was re-badged 'Snickers' in the UK http://tinyurl.com/yy6s2q
Google then produced this one, which carries both logos
http://tinyurl.com/ya9rmr , all a bit confusing.

I think you can still get 7--Up bars through the Vermont Country Store.
Haven't seen a catalog for a while.

Oh yeash. I liked them becasue they were long - didn't they have a 12"
ruler on the side for a while? I figurted theyw ere the best value when
i could choolse something from the candy shelf on sundays when we went
to the smoke shop to get the paper. i could make one last a lot longer
than a milky way. my other favorite was razzles.

I got one of their catalogs in the mail yesterday. I searched the site but
don't find a match for 7-Up bars, though. www.vermontcountrystore.com
