Default Entenmann's

I just bought an Entenmann's crumb cake from the grocery store; I had
never bought one before. I am not impressed at all with it. The crumb
topping is way too dry and has no flavor and while the cake part is
moist, it has no flavor either. I've heard other people rave about
Entenmann's but I don't think I'll buy any more of their products.

I think you should not buy any more of their products, either.

Ah, but have you tried their Ultimate Crumb Cake?!

That's awesome! If you like tons of thick, rich crumbs, get the
Entenmann's Ultimate Crumb Cake. I think it outdoes every other
brand.

Shopping while hungry. Or, guests coming for brunch in 23 minutes and
absolutely no other options.

Actually, after looking at the box again, it was the ultimate crumb
cake that I bought. It was just too floury for my tastes. It needed
more sugar, more butter, more cinnamon, etc.

Default Entenmann's

I was in the supermarket some months back and I was
jonesin' for something cakey. What caught my eye on the
way past the Entenmann's display was a cake that someone
used to buy and bring in to work ... many, many years ago.

Some kind of pineapple loaf cake. I picked it up out of
nostalgia. I'd buy that again if I saw it.

What do you expect from fat-free baked goods?
That's like expecting to enjoy a glass of
non-alcoholic wine or a slice of zero-carb bread.

Get this clear, FAT = FLAVOR. It also provides
rich texture. You can eat for purely healthful
nutritional purposes, or you can eat for pleasure.
Which will it be?

But this wasn't fat free. The whole cake has 130 grams of fat.

Which Entenmann's product one enjoys is personal taste. For many years
I lived within walking distance of the Entenmann's bakery and would
shop at their factory discount store often; cakes for a buck. I wasn't
crazy about their crumb cake either but many of thier products were
very good... my favorite is their devils food chocolate covered donuts,
I could/would eat the entire box at one sitting.

Now the all time ultimate crumb cake was made by Dugan's... alas no
more, not for forty years.

I love pretty much all of the Entenmann's baked goods, especially those
slightly crunchy chocolate-coated donuts. It's partly nostalgia, but I
still think everything they do tastes great with a coffee.

I think their raspberry danish is very good. I don't bother with anything
else.

Entenmann's chocolate donuts and their banana nut cake are incredible. I
agree about the crumb cake; its dry and bland, but it is stilly to paint
a company's entire range of products based on only one of them.

Dugan's used to have a delivery route in New Brunswick, New
Jersey in the 40's and we would often get cakes from them.
Great stuff.

I love the raspberry danish. They do another fantastic danish that has
walnuts.

I used to think that too, until I tried an Albertson's brand raspberry
danish - FAR better than Entenmann's! At least twice the filling (Entenmann's
has been getting real stingy with their filling the past few years).
I quit buying Entenmann's now.
