All mixed and ready to go in the oven. I intend to freeze them.
Could I add sour cream to the mix and still have them taste ok. I ask because I have a tub of sour cream and probably won't use it all before the due date. - elaine |

Another alternative might be to use the sour cream in a sauce over the meatballs, which is probably how I'd handle it. ...fred |

But I would rather not freeze the sauce. I suspect it would go watery. elaine |

Are you going to freeze all of the meatballs? They're very good in a stroganoff-type sauce. I'm thinking the sour cream would probably separate if it were frozen. |

I think you should freeze the meatballs naked and make the sauce when you use them. Use your sour cream for something else, like a sour cream coffee cake. -- See return address to reply by email |

Added a little bit of sour cream to the mix - I'll make the sauce when I defrost the meatballs - whenever that happens! I get annoyed with myself because I buy the big tub of sour cream, then end up throwing it out 'cause it has green mould. elaine |

Thanks. I did that. Sour cream coffee cake sounds good. Stupid question. But does it involve coffee? elaine |

I used to do that too! I _finally_ learned to get the little 8 oz. containers even tho' it costs more per oz. I figured I was not saving money if I nearly always ended up throwing out 1/2 of the larger container when it went bad! I've had to get used to cooking for just 2 people. -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails. "My mother never saw the irony in calling me a Son of a bitch" -- Jack Nicholson |

LOL I forgot to add that google has lots of recipes there (it's pretty standard) and if you don't have any sour cream on hand or want to reduce fat/calories, yogurt is a great substitute. In fact, I prefer using vanilla yogurt. -- See return address to reply by email |
