What gives? The other day, I noticed that a bunch of green onions
(scallions) was $0.85! And today, the price was up to $0.99!! Usually, they cost around $0.50 a bunch (small as that is) or less, so something's up and it's not the price of gasoline. Sky P.S. The price of non-special tomatoes was $1.99 today. |

Probably going out of season locally, now they need to be shipped from further away... everything is tied to the price of transportation/oil. |

Not only that, but all the green onions I've been able to buy recently have bolted. That means they've changed into the form shortly before going to seed. Instead of having several long slightly flattened leaves, they have few leaves with a decidedly roundish cross section. That's not nearly so nice for most uses. |

Could this be a seasonal thing? |
