Today at Costco (Senter Road, San Jose) I saw a display of
jars containing one ounce of saffron for $24. Each jar is
more saffron than I have ever seen in one place before.

The lable says

Spanish "Mancha" Saffron
Saffron No 1 Coupe Quality
Coloring power Content 210 guaranteed at the time of packing
Pacific Plaza Imports, Inc.

The jar is about a cup of dark red threads.
I see only two yellow threads.

Mmmmm, time to make paella...
