Cross posting to more than one newsgroup at a time is generally accepted to
be a
no no. It clutters up each of the cross posted NGs with replies not relevant
to
each newsgroup receiving the cross posted message.

That's not always true, Kent. In this case, the message DOES belong in both
newsgroups. If the original message is addressed to both groups, you will
see the same responses here that are in the other one, so there will end up
being LESS repetitious responses.

Who died and made you the Moderator? This particular x-post was quite
reasonable IMHO.

You need to learn how to read without moving your lips...

"Crossposting is usually practiced when material is relevant and of
interest to the readers of more than one newsgroup. HOWEVER sometimes
it is used maliciously to begin a thread between newsgroups whose
readers are likely to have violently differing opinions, in the hope of
provoking a conflict. This is a form of trolling."

Not incorrect... it is never wise to cross post... cross posting only
benefits the trolls... and attracts the unsavory types (WOPs) who often
invade, because by cross posting you don't know which other groups are
being cross posted to by those operating in the other food related
groups such as baking or bbq orr coffee, or unrelated groups... where
does it end. Do NOT cross post, otherwise YOU are a TROLL, and/or a
LAZY *USELESS* *******... ie. a douchebag WOP!

If someone wants to participatte in a particular Newsgroup then nothing
is preventing them from subscribing to each individually. Crossposters
are the very worst of the worst kind of Usenet DUMB****S.. typically
WOPs.
