In the oven (vegetarians, close your eyes): Meat loaf made from a
pound each of beef, lamb, and pork, along with some dried onions (forgot to buy fresh ones), some oats, three eggs, a grated carrot, some sliced mushrooms, some seasoned salt, and a bunch of granulated garlic. Also boiling small white potatoes, and I'll make a mushroom sauce for the top. Yum. Serene -- "I can't decide if I feel more like four ten-year-olds or ten four-year-olds." This three-plus pound loaf is taking longer. So duh. Oh, well, we'll eat potatoes and gravy while we wait for the meat. James said it would be the best meatloaf he'd ever had, but it's too chunky to make proper meatloaf sandwiches with the next day, so it loses a couple of points. :-) Serene -- "I can't decide if I feel more like four ten-year-olds or ten four-year-olds." It seems so much "beefier" tasting. |
