Default Cooking a frozen turkey

It suggests that this has advantages over cooking an unfrozen turkey
defrosted in the fridge.

I wonder how well this idea works for deep fryed turkey? You'd
have to make sure all the ice was removed, of course...

Do you think the outside would get too well done and the inside not? It
would also drop the temp of the oil...

Aside from any other problems with uneven cooking, I'd be worried about
a nasty, explosive effect as trapped moisture reached the boiling point
and bubbled through the oil. There's a lot of liquid trapped in the
average store-bought frozen turkey, in addition to any visible ice
chunks.

My son deep fries previously frozen turkeys every Thanksgiving. I'm pretty
sure he just makes sure that the turkey is completely defrosted before
proceeding with the deep frying and, as you said, no ice whatsoever remains.

You completely missed the point - the subject is about cooking a frozed turkey,
not a defrosted one...
