Aside from any other problems with uneven cooking, I'd be worried about
a nasty, explosive effect as trapped moisture reached the boiling point and bubbled through the oil. There's a lot of liquid trapped in the average store-bought frozen turkey, in addition to any visible ice chunks. I'm pretty sure he just makes sure that the turkey is completely defrosted before proceeding with the deep frying and, as you said, no ice whatsoever remains. |

I'm pretty : sure he just makes sure that the turkey is completely defrosted before : proceeding with the deep frying and, as you said, no ice whatsoever remains. You completely missed the point - the subject is about cooking a frozed turkey, not a defrosted one... |
