Should I check "didn't make turkey" when I ate turkey but didn't make
it? We were not at home. That category sounds more like it's for
those who opted for ham or something other than turkey on
Thanksgiving.

I didn't make it, but we had chicken thighs for T-day, and we don't
have a special dinner on Christmas. We just hang out in our jammies,
open presents, and have lots of sex. ;-)

I Dunno. That was maxine's question. I only added in the "didn't have
T-day" answer (for those of us who don't have T-Day in our countries).
Subsequently, I chose that option and didn't have to make any weighty
decisions about the other choices. Maybe if maxine sees this she can
clarify it for you... BTW, which cooking method was used for the turkey
that you ate, anyway?

But if you have any queries about the second question/answers I may be
of more help - I wrote that one up, based on an idea Larry gave me.

It was brined... other than that, I don't know. Probably tented at
one point but open the rest of the time.

With all the fanatic cooks on this group, I never even contemplated
someone not cooking their own turkey. I guess you could answer with
which method was used by the person who did cook the turkey you ate.

That reminds me of another 2 or 3 possibilities:
Did you buy the meal from the grocery store fully cooked?
Did you eat out on the 23rd?
Did you have someone come in and do the cooking for you?

I could have sworn someone posted a picture of a turkey standing on a
Weber grill, but maybe they don't consider that barbequing, or else
maybe they don't respond to surveys<g>

Well, there ya go... making assumptions again. <grinning at you>
My kids have chosen to spend Thanksgiving with their SO's side for
various reasons. That's OK with me. Xmas is for family in my house
and we share Thanksgiving with others. In the past, sometimes others
came here - sometimes I had an all out party, but it was always fun.
It's still that way.

I tried.

<singing> The list goes on!

I saw that picture.

If this was 2 years ago (at my house) - before my Weber died and the
kids gave my husband a gas grill we don't use..... I would have
responded with smoked on the Weber. It's not a true slow smoke, but
the meat has a smoky flavor when it's done; it's thoroughly cooked,
juicy and has a crispy deep brown skin.
