We have had a George Foreman (larger size) for about 6-7 years. It works
well, but there are two fualts that really are frustrating. One is that the way that the grease is drained is a little tray, yet most of the time, the grease drips back under the grill to far to make it into the tray. The other thing is that the grill panels are not removable for washing. I know that there are grills out there that solve these issues and am looking for a suggestion. We have 2 kids and them my wife and myself, so we need something that can make at the least, 4 sandwiches. I like the idea of interchangable grill panels What would you suggest? Thanks Bruce |

They clean up realy easy and there is a 'drawer' that catches the drippings well. It has a timer, but no temp. control. I like it a lot. I've seen ads for a new George Foreman grill with interchangable grill surfaces...waffle, flat grill and grooved grill, but I think it still uses that little tray thing to catch the fat. I am on my second HB and they are more affordable and better designed than the GF's with removable grids: http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach.../dp/B000A1FFLI /sr=1-4/qid=1164732545/ref=sr_1_4/104-4852010-7200718?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen Or: http://preview.tinyurl.com/yyrroo My local Wal-mart carries this model. The drip tray is sufficient, I just check it when I'm done each time and empty it. ;-) It holds quite a bit...... -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails. Hello Bruce: My experience with the George Foreman grill with removable plates is not good. My wife bought it for me for my birthday, as I'd loved the 2-serving and 4-serving grills with fixed plates. Yes, the plates in the new grill are removable, but the temperature just doesn't get up there. Preheated for half an hour, slapped four burgers on there, after 10 minutes the burgers were 'done' but they looked boiled rather than grilled. No crusty seared surface. The same holds true with anything cooked on the grill. I'd love to hear others' experiences with removable-plates grills. Best -- Terry |

HTH....Sharon Foreman does make a model with removable grids but I've looked at both, and I think that HB is better designed as well as being less expensive. GF, you are paying for the name. -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails. "My mother never saw the irony in calling me a Son of a bitch" -- Jack Nicholson |

I wanted to second the HB grill reqs. I had a george foreman but
cleaning it was like bathing a small child! I recently bought the family sized Hamilton Beach Healthsmart grill. It is so easy to clean. I pop the grill plate and the base of the grill into the dishwasher. Everything is dishwasher safe (except for the power cord of course). I love my HB grill. It's so much better and more affordable than the GF grills. We use it at least once or twice a week because it's so easy to clean and the grease drips into the base and away from the food.
