Right now that's the only picture I have, from when my new floor was
being installed, unfortunately not a very good picture as the pantry
was emptied and a black tarp hung to cut back on dust covering the
shelving.

I suppose that narrow closet to the left of the fridge space can be
called a pantry of sorts too, that's where I keep my canned and boxed
staples... unfortunately it's not open so you can't see all the
shelves.

But mostly I use my basement as a pantry.

I'll need to take better pictures.

Mine is one of the fold-out pantry units. Built by the Pennsylvania Dutch.
The piano hinges make it smooth as silk to operate.

I don't tend to use the left rear shelves so much, as things out of sight
tend to get forgotten.

And they did a frikken good job too.

Not my cup of tea..... but I certainly appreciate the craftsmanship.

my pantry is technically the linen cabinet for the bathroom which is off the
kitchen. I'm really short, so I don't like keeping the food in the regular
kitchen cabinets where I have a harder time reaching things that are up high
or in the back.

As it is, i can access the bottom two shelves okay, I can only get to the
things in the front of the 3rd shelf up and david hides my macaroni and cheese
on the top shelf behind his vitamins (I use long kitchen tongs to sneak it
down).

The pantry was organized once, but I'm not really an organized person...so
neither is my pantry (or desk, or filing or book shelves)

*How* short are you??

Are we talking "De plane, Master, De plane" short??

I have to use a small step ladder to get to the back of the top shelf in
my pantry. The top shelf is 6'10" off the ground, and the shelves are
2' deep and 2'10" wide

*Lots* of space to put stuff in :-)

I need to get another step ladder. I had a nice one before but I think I left
it at the old house, I just can't find it since I moved. David is 6'2", he can
reach most things for me.

In my old house the master bedroom backed up to the kitchen. The bedroom had
two large closets along the wall it shared with the kitchen. I always wanted
to wall off the one closet and bust open the wall on the kitchen side and make
it into a very large pantry but I never got to do it.

I think what you can't see in the photos is all the stuff knocked over or
thrown around in there. It's pretty bad sometimes, i should probably do
something about it.

My pantry is a little *dis*-organised this morning.

I was up late cooking up a storm for the next few days.

I had to take 3 shots to get it all in!!

Firstly, the top shelves.
http://i12.tinypic.com/2pto5mx.jpg

The middle shelves......
http://i13.tinypic.com/2qwlkyw.jpg

and the bottom shelves...
http://i13.tinypic.com/334uu0j.jpg

But *then*....... I have what could be referred to as a Spice pantry, above
the stove.......

than I do.

Every now and then I go all anal and repack the whole thing so it's all

But that doesn't happen often :-)

sf,

Thanks! Keep in mind, when I bought the house I just needed to bring a
toothbrush (that's an old realtor saying).

Personally, I never would have thought up most of the **** in this house.

Everyone who visits doesn't want to leave! Even under pressure!

All the best,

Andy

We don't have a pantry And you REALLY don't want to see the state
of our kitchen cupboards when I've tried to cram all the food into
them!

Karen,

Admittedly, it's ABSOLUTELY a work of art!

The Pennsylvania Dutch company "StyleCraft" that remodeled the kitchen
built those pantry units to their design specifications and made many of
them. They'd simply drag one into the house and fasten it into place (as
you see).

I'd like to hire them for more work, but I doubt they're still available
under the StyleCraft name.
