Default Hey Jude!

Email me at my return address. My grandson's after school care had a
great cooking idea that I'm going to use for school xmas gifts.
Thought I'd share it with you.

Mee too, well mine is 4.5, but in a week we will have 2 weeks out of pk
so I have been trying to think of things to do.

Thanks Steve - I got that far, but it would only give me part of the
address with a "....." in the middle. Wouldn't divolge the whole thing,
no blue link to the complete address. I tried, I really did!

Oh, ok.... I didn't want to bore people, but since there are some
interested moms here, I'll post it. He (5 years old) came home with
"take and bake" shortbread. It was pressed into a disposable
aluminum pan, covered with regular foil (for transportation) and
accompanied by the following recipe:

Chocolate Chip Shortbread
Makes 8 cookies
375°

1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup mini chocolate chip morsels
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 375°.

Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla,
salt and chocolate chips. then add flour. You can squish it with
your hands if a spoon doesn't work. Press the dough into an ungreased
8" round baking pan. Bake 12 minutes until the edges are golden
brown. Score shortbread using a sharp knife, do not cut all the way
through. Makes 8 wedges per pan.

Let pans cool completely.

I thought it was a terrific idea! Families got to have the fun of
baking without the mess of preparing the dough and the after school
program got to do the prep work (a good rainy day activity) w/o having
to do all of that baking.

It was a tiny rectangular pan. I didn't measure it. I'd use an 8"
round myself. Pie shaped wedges are more traditional.

Nope. No link under the dots this time, i swear, i tried that. Normally
the dots are in blue and they are a link to a complete address but not
this time.
