I've never been able to play the annual game before.
Rob gave me Maya Angelou's "Hallelujah! The Welcome Table: A Lifetime of
Memories with Recipes." I'm enjoying it more for the narratives than
the recipes, I think.

I'm very curious about the first recipe in the book. It's for lemon
meringue pie that contains something like 1-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
in the filling. HUH? (I don't have the book at hand at the moment, but
it's there.) What in Alex's name would bread crumbs possibly be doing
in a recipe for a lemon filling for pie?
