Default home made museli?

I finally picked up a bag og Bob's Red Mill Museli -- Not bad, but it's
pretty expensive. I'd like to try making my own. The primary
ingredients seem to be rolled oats, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, and
assorted chopped nuts like almonds and walnuts. It doesn't seem like
it would be too hard to make.

So, anyone have a favorite recipe?

Fred, this is my granola. Just leave out the baking step and the
almond oil and maple syrup. It's very tasty. Add/subtract ingreds at
will! You might want to whirl the oatmeal in the FP or blender.

TammyM

Tammy's Granola

Oatmeal - 3 cups ish
Sesame seeds ½ cup-ish
Coconut - ½ cup ish
Wheat germ - whatever looks good
Oat Bran - whatever looks good
Pumpkin seeds - 1 cup? (or equal amt nuts)
Almond oil - ½ cup ish (canola oil ok)
Maple syrup - generous!
Salt - ½ teasp ish

Oven to 260. Lightly spray jelly roll pan with nonstick spray.
Evenly spread granola over pan. Drizzle with more maple syrup. Bake
for 1 hour 20 minutes, carefully stirring every 20 minutes.

Thank you -- that's a graet idea; it never occurred to me to start with
a granola recipe...

I just go to the natural foods store, to the bin section, and let my
imagination wander. Can put all kinds of stuff into muesli/granola!

Yes, in fact that's the way the original Bircher-Benner muesli is
made, though it's soaked in liquid with grated apple before eating.
Good stuff
