Heya folks,

If you come into the chat room, please stay for more than just a few
seconds or a minute. I am back and forth to the kitchen, and I might
not see you right away.

Two people have come and gone ...and stayed only a minute or so.....
By the time I saw them, they had gone...

This is why I prefer mail and news to chat. You're not required to be
at the computer at the same time as I am.

I'm in the chat room often and know what it's like.... people come in
to "lurk" just like they lurk here - except we can see them. It's
really creapy (unless you're an exhibitionist at heart).

No problem, bud... but what you should do *eventually* is sign in and
let us know it's *you* before you leave! I often do the log on and
walk away method too, except the users who bother to remember details
often remember that it's me especially when I use the java link (your
IP address shown).

We have a lot of gamers who mistakenly pop into the channel too, so
we're used to people who come and go in less than a minute, but it's
the "lurkers" who are really *creepy*. In any case, if you've ever
experienced being kicked - now you know why. However, we haven't
kicked anyone who hasn't requested being kicked in a *long* time (I
have a ghost that follows me) - so come back soon..... even if you
decide to leave during your login to make a cup of coffee.
