Default Amazon 30 Day Price Guarantee

Hey, look at this! Amazon has a secret pricing policy
(but probably not for long):

http://www.slate.com/id/2156900/

About a year or two ago, Amazon suddenly stopped
working for me when they changed their software.
Netscape Communicator 4.6 hangs when I try to access it.
That seriously reduced my interest in their service.

Which is a shame. They used to be the best
e-tailer on the web. I could order from them
with Java and cookies blocked.

When an item I bought from Amazon last month dropped $61 (to $199 from
$260) within 2 weeks of purchase I e-mailed and asked if I could get
the lower price and sure enough, they gave it to me.

I did not know about the policy, but it never hurts to ask. Other
than the fact that you have to notice and ask for the refund (which
seems pretty standard for most stores) it beats me why the Slate
article tries to make it sound so sinister!

I love Amazon.com. They make it so easy to... buy things

You're using an outdated (obsolete, too?) version of Netscape (browser)
with v4.6. That's more than likely the reason why Amazon hangs when you
access their website. The current version of Netscape is v8.1.2.
