I'm the only one, but there is no potential other cook unless my cat
decides to start cooking.

Poorly designed survey - after all, "me" is rather meaningless. More
interesting is whether the husband or wife does most of the cooking, or
a child, or the live-in professional chef.

Here, things run very smoothly because I love to cook and do 95% of it
while Maxine would much rather clean up (although she cooks the
occasional Japanese meal).

And if you don't mind a visit from the Grammar Nanny (and even if you do
mind) the second choice should be "I and ..."

Dang, you have to wrestle with your cat for the stove, too? <g> Now I know
who put the pan in the dishwasher. Sheesh!

OK Peter,

Methinks it's your turn to submit a meaningful survey, don't you think?

Except, I'm the only one in my household so "me" is appropriate in my case.

Not a bad "first attempt" Peter. Thank you.

However, one teeny-weeny nitpick... You gave the "game" away - you are
not supposed to post these questions *before* we do the survey on the
site. You are supposed to email them to me, so we can give all the
RFC-ers a "surprise". Sheesh - newbies...

That's funny. In my house, Maxine prefers to cook, and DH prefers
cleanup.

Well, you really have to define the word, "cook." The DH cooks
periodically, but we're talkin' canned roast beef hash topped with
eggs, an omelet made with American cheese, white bread and looks like
a sofa cushion, canned chili con carne...well, you get my drift. I
guess that can be considered "cooking," but doesn't quite hold up to
my Grilled Skirt Steak with Leaks and Beurre Rouge or Poached Pears in
Phyllo with Chocolate Sauce. Heck, it doesn't even hold up to my fried
chicken <g>

Oh, boy, you're gonna get thumped for this one. It should be "My
significant other and me." If "I" can't stand alone, it fails the
test.

Heh. Peter seems to be the self-appointed "grammar checker" on r.f.c. He

I live alone except for my cat...The cat is scared of the stove...so I
have to cook. I rarely eat anything I don't cook. I Don't like dining
alone and I don't buy takeaway or pre frozen foods/meals often.

I do most of the cooking, because I like to cook a lot. James likes
cooking okay, and the stuff he does make is yummy. I'd say he cooks
around once every week or two, usually when I'm just not in the mood.
He fixes his own breakfast and lunch when I'm not around, but that's
usually toast and cottage cheese for breakfast, or a sandwich for
lunch. Carin has cooked for us a handful of times in four years.
Maybe an average of once a year. She really dislikes cooking, but
once in a while, she gets in the mood. The other day, I was feeling
really grumpy, and I got home and she was in the middle of making
vegan lasagna. Really improved my mood.

I am sure you enjoyed it all the more.

My Dad is the "breakfast king" around here and he makes that for us, but
he also enjoys cooking (and food) of any kind. DH often helps me with
the evening meal, unless he is really busy with work or something. Nice
arrangement. Oh and Dad doesn't mind doing the dishes either, which is a
big bonus

Oh, sure. Double his salary immediately as the Grammar Checker of RFC.

My brother's inlaws live in China. They come to the US to visit a
couple of times a year. They usually stay 5 or 6 months each time.

Cathy,

Maybe you can get a better rate for something like Wed-Thurs. She
didn't say she did not rent him out just not on weekends.
