I just posted part of the the label of a Bernzomatic BF9 butane refill can. The State of California warning is just above the UPC bar code. That falsifies what Bob said above. I didn't have a camera that would do a good job of photographing this, so I had to do it on my scanner in five shots, rotating the can a little bit each time. |

I brought up earlier the possibility that maybe Bernzomatic makes regional versions of their labelling, but he didn't try to use that to justify his assertion that there is no California warning on _any_ Bernzomatic products. Now that I've scanned the evidence and posted it, he might back-pedal to that position. Or he might accuse me of forging the evidence. We'll just have to wait and see how he tries to climb out of that hole he's dug. |

Maybe it's the same for Berzomatic products. Go read a book. This isn't important. |

I tried something different. I Googled Bernzomatic BF9 and found the Bernzomatic Site Map with a list of its products. One of them is the BF9 2.1 oz. Disposable Butane Cylinder http://www.bernzomatic.com/bernzomat.../siteMap.jhtml I clicked on the BF9 2.1 oz. Disposable Butane Cylinder and went directly to the page for that product. It said that the cylinder is for use with mico and mini troches [sic]. I am assuming it was a typo and should have read that it was for mini and micro torches. At the bottom right of that specific product is the icon on which to click for the MSDS sheet. http://www.bernzomatic.com/bernzomat...rnzoProd100021 Since you had insisted that the link had to go directly from the product page to the MSDS for it to be legitimately connected, I tried it. SOn of a gun..... there was the MSDS for the product in question. http://www.bernzomatic.com/bernzomat...MSDSButane.pdf You can try that link or follow all of them and see for yourself....... Warning: This fuel, and by-products of combustion of this fuel, contain chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm". |

California has secret information about lead being hazardous. Who knew? |

If it smelled like burnt rubber if could have been Mark thinking up more explanations about why the link to the Butane MSDS with warnings does not apply to the company's fuel for the propane torch which is actually a butane lighter. :-) |

Why do you suppose the web page for the BF9 refill cartridge has a direct link to the butane MSDS but the web page for the Flexible Utility Lighter does not? I'll tell you why -- the butane MSDS applies to the BF9, but does not apply to the Flexible Utility Lighter. The BF9 is not the refill cartridge for the Flexible Utility Lighter. The Flexible Utility Lighter comes with its own refill cartridge, which has no product number. Neither the Flexible Utility Lighter nor its refill cartridge have the State of California warning about carcinogens. |

I call it a lie when he just pulls it out of thin air, and tries to see if he can get people to believe it. It would be a mistake if he had some basis for making his claim, and offered it as a possibility. But that's not at all what he did. He had no basis, and he forcefully insisted on the truth of his assertion. That's what makes it a lie, not a mistake. |

And now we have a new friend to go with Oscar the Grouch and Big Bird. It's Mark the Moron... Everybody put your hands together and give him the clap... .... Perhaps your insufficient grasp of English is to blame for your moronic posts. Perhaps it's an insufficient cranial index. Perhaps it's your obsessive-compulsive helplessness to alter course. Perhaps it's that you're a moron and no further explanation is necessary. I only wish I could write in big, colorful crayon letters to help you understand some very simple facts. 1) there is no fuel-use food-grade propane or butane. Period. 2) what I said above is true: No BernzOmatic products carry the California warning and they all use standard propane or butane. It seems to have escaped your near-blind eyes that I distinguished between BernzOmatic products that *use* fuels and the fuels themselves. No surprise there. 3) All propane, butane, MAPP, acetylene, etc. fuels carry the California warning, no matter what brand. And, hilariously, so do oxygen cylinders. > I didn't have a camera that would do a > good job of photographing this, so I had > to do it on my scanner in five shots, > rotating the can a little bit each time. <LOL> Talk about OCD. What a brilliant success. You are to be commended for such a single-minded demonstration of crippled thinking. Moron. Pastorio |

You need to go read the post where I listed several others and maybe explain how they "flout" the law (Which law is that, Mark?). How wonderfully droll, Mark, that you didn't bother to actually check your own statement about the lighter (N.B. It's not a "torch") but just pulled it out of thin air, trying to get people to believe it. Bwah... But I got my info from the BernzOmatic customer service department at the phone number I've posted twice. The nice man told me that *no* BernzOmatic product carries the California label, and that only their fuel cylinders, as everybody's must, do. Do note that I distinguished between BernzOmatic products that *use* the fuels and the fuels themselves in my original statement. Too subtle for you, Mark? Rhetorical question. > It would be a mistake if he had some basis > for making his claim, and offered it as a > possibility. But that's not at all what > he did. He had no basis, and he forcefully > insisted on the truth of his assertion. > That's what makes it a lie, not a mistake. Actually, I had a basis for the claim, which I've posted in detail elsewhere today and which, therefore, reduces your accusation to a reflexive bit of delight demonstrating your willingness to lie to try to "win." Hilarious. Moron. Pastorio |
