I finally scored some dried lotus leaves after nagging the guy at the
local oriental grocery about them. I can now start experimenting with my favorite dim sum goodie, lo mai gai. These tasty morsels are made by combining steamed sticky (sweet) rice with various goodies such as Chinese sausage, mushrooms, dried shrimp, chicken, chestnuts (not all at once!), wrapping in half a leaf, them steaming. Tomorrow's lunch, hopefully. -- Peter Aitken |
