Me, it's bowls. Not eating bowls, but rather mixing and food
preparation bowls. Whenever I go to a kitchen store or area of a department store, I always check out the bowls. I have a metal set (Kirkland) of three, Cloverleaf type bowls (one very large actual Cloverleaf and three smaller ones made in China), and four white glass Pyrex with exterior single colours I got from my mother's estate. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=3245041907 &category=13925 This is exactly the same as the red one I have, which is the second smallest in size, colours being from the inside out: blue, red, green and yellow. Here's a picture of a blue one from that set: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=3245362938 &category=13925 I also have two large salad bowls, one clear glass and the other white plastic (good for picnics and what not). And one small glass pyrex bowl for beating eggs in. What about you? -- My trip to Asia begins here in Japan for an important reason. It begins here because for a century-and-a-half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times. From that alliance has come an era of peace in the Pacific. And a Sabatier "oriental cleaver" which might be my favorite. It's especially fun with vegetables. And my extra-long steel. I'm not very adept at freshening the edges. The extra length helps. I've been using a Chef's Choice to sharpen, but no more. I found a little place in town that does a really good job for only 99 cents per knife "on sale." They have the "sale" a couple times per month. They sell Wusthof and other high quality brands too. I really love prep work, so knives are an important pleasure. -- Jack |

I currently have 11 whisks, in as many sizes and shapes. I have coiled whisks, flat whisks, balloon whisks, miniature whisks. It is my belief you can never have too many whisks. Oh, don't get me wrong. I love lots of stuff. My Microplanes and good pans for example. I also love knives. Once I had my first quality knife, I never looked back. No longer did the knives at the grocery store hold even a fleeting interest...though I still gaze at the whisks sometimes. kimberly |

I'm a paring knife addict... have more than fifty... recently obtained the L'Econome from Williams Sonoma, couldn't decide so got one of each color; red, green, blue, yellow, brown... $6 for one but $25 for all five. Great little knife. I see now the same knife is availabe with a serrated blade... nah, don't like serrated. ---= BOYCOTT FRENCH--GERMAN (belgium) =--- ---= Move UNITED NATIONS To Paris =--- Sheldon ```````````` "Life would be devoid of all meaning were it without tribulation." |
