I don't know, Vilco, are you going to buy what he's selling? Speaking for
myself, it's highly doubtful either of us would. Stop me if I'm being too
forward and all that, but you never know. Maybe you like SPAM? I, for one,
will eat certain canned things but not Spam and definitely not things sold
by this sort of brat. But again, may be just me... LOL

Mornin' Jill!

I say let 'em have it with both barrels! I buy what I need, not crap some
loser is trying to sell.

I also avoid "not available in stores" and P.O. Box only address TV 1-800
ads! They simply add up to unaccountability!

After having read his spam, never. If he didn't spam, he would have retained
an infinitesimally small chance of me buying that stuff. Now that chance is
gone forever.

Jill, I'm confused about your thinking I'm selling anything. My blog
contains an article on how there's too many cooks and not enough jobs.
I also suggest reading two books about what it takes to make in the
food industry. I then linked those to Amazon - was that the problem?
The Amazon links? How many times have posters here suggested reading
material? How many have suggested a certain appliance? My content was
not spam but then again Jill you may be right - shameful shameful - ten
Hail Marys to the usenet goddess!

My son is in culinary school. So is my daughter's roommate. She isn't
going to be a chef, she is going to be a baker. My daughter says that's
different.

My son hasn't done diddly since he dropped out of high school 7 years
ago. We are just happy that he is doing something. I don't see it as a
career, but it's a start.

Someone once suggested that I become a cook, because I like to cook. I
don't think so.

My MIL told me that also. Not my thing. I like to cook, at home, and
not for 15 hours a day.

Hey folks! This is too good a thread to dump just because it was started
by a crypto-spammer. I just happened to view a DVD the other night
called "Waiting..." which is one of those gross-out comedies made for 13
to 18 year old males. But, If you've ever worked for a chain
restaurant, or, even in just a busy kitchen, you will probably enjoy it.
It really took me back to my cook/chef days in Sacramento back in the
70's. There has got to be nothing nuttier than working in a busy
restaurant kitchen (and, I guess front'o'the house too!) Anybody got
any good stories? Remember the "5-second Rule"? And, I can tell you
that there is little correlation between loving to cook and working in
the restaurant biz.

I just saw some of that for the first time last month. What a hoot.
Everyone should watch it once, just to understand the crap that wait
staff have to put up with.

Where'd you work, Don? I was killing time in Sacto back in the early
70s. Even attended cooking classes at the old fairgrounds.

"crypto-spammer" I'm quite honored Don! And you're right - my
intention was to bring this interesting issue/subject up in a food
group to be discussed by adults. I'll check out Waiting since my first
job was on a grill at Wendy's.

I was in the opening crew for Fat City in Old Sac and I ran the lunch
program when Maurice's American Bar first opened. It later turned into
Malarkey's (without me).
