Perhaps he needs the fifteen dollars now and he is selling things he can spare. I hope he will find someone who can use the stuff, just in case..... |

That sounds neat!). Or someone gave them some of it for Christmas. Or he has kids who beg for something and then try it and go Yuck! Or you buy 2-get one free. My bet is that they just reorganized their pantry and found all this stuff. Me, I'd donate the unopened stuff to the food bank and bring the rest to work, where someone is sure to want some of it. maxine in ri |

Have you never been on the receiving end of a cupboard cleaning from someone's move? I've 'inherited' some strange food-like items when a friend or neighbour moved out of town and didn't want to bother packing the few odds and ends in the kitchen cupboard. Sometimes I've been lucky, sometimes not. I finally through out the pickled herring in some kind of cream sauce but the sugary breakfast cereal actually made a nice snacking item when reading. |

Frozen foods: a couple of frozen lamb shanks in rosemary sauce. Mussels in butter sauce. Chicken with orange sauce. Scallops. The only odd thing I was given was a packet of instant mashed potatoes but they'll make a nice coating for baked chicken so I'm not too concerned. > I've 'inherited' some strange food-like items when a friend or > neighbour moved out of town and didn't want to bother packing the few > odds and ends in the kitchen cupboard. > > Sometimes I've been lucky, sometimes not. I never did quite that well but some pork chops and IIRC a half bottle of something like Creme de Menthe once. I did discover that in an emergency the fake cheese in Kraft dinner is not a bad base for a simple cheese dip. > > I've 'inherited' some strange food-like items when a friend or > > neighbour moved out of town and didn't want to bother packing the few > > odds and ends in the kitchen cupboard. > > > Sometimes I've been lucky, sometimes not. I don't even know what they are? Some kind of dog food maybe? I have no idea what the stuff I had was but it had some crunchy stuff, some seeds or nuts and some sugar. It went fairly well with a coffee or cup of tea. John Kane, Kingston ON Canada |
