![]() ZWIEBEL KUCHEN (Onion Tart) The Silver Palate Pantry Recipes Cooking With Condiments This makes a wonderful appetizer, or light luncheon, if served with a crisp, green salad. 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons butter, cut into pieces 5 to 6 Tablespoons milk 1 cup Silver Palate Onion Sherry Chutney 4 ounces sour cream Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In food processor fitted with a steel blade, mix four, baking powder and salt, using on/off pulses. Add butter and mix until mixture is crumbly. Add milk and mix until mixture forms a ball. Pat dough, or on a floured surface roll dough out tot fit a 9" quiche pan. Spread with Onion Sherry Chutney and cover with sour cream. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 6. It also goes extremely well with drinks. So much so, that you have to make several of these tasty tarts. |

It sounds wonderful, but I'd have to get the Silver Palate product first. Don't know that I've ever seen it hereabouts (can't say I ever looked for it, though). I had a lovely onion tart on a cruise ship in November -- and Cook's Illustrated has a recipe for such a tart in this go's edition of the mag. I am tempted to try it. And I expected you to say it goes so well with drinks that you have to have several -- drinks. Now, THAT I would expect of you, Lady Lush! -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.mac.com/barbschaller - Winter pic and a snow pic http://jamlady.eboard.com http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/amytaylor |

You really know how to hurt a friend. I feel as if I had just sustained a mortal wound, right in my heart. Sorry, Barbara, I did not look at your post closely enough. You did
see that I mentioned drinks. ![]() The little booklet is about 25 years old and something I received from the Silver palate free of charge when I bought some stuff from them in those days. |
