If this is a trend you've recognized, fix it. Put sticky notes on the
bathroom mirror: "Move tomorrow's steak from freezer to refrigerator top
shelf". If you don't see the notes, you have another separate set of
problems, involving vision and hygiene.

Read behind the lines, Sleepout.

The dude works..... he comes home knackered..... he needs a quick fix to
defrost the meat....... so that he can get the protein intake to tackle
the next day.

Stick your 'Post-it' notes up your bum.

Ziploc bags, flattened meat (not balled). In the sink with cool-tepid
water. Easier defrost.

Indeed. :-)

Freezing individual portions as flat as possible works for most meats.
Chops, steaks, burgers and even parted out chicken.

And fresh frozen bagged veggies to go with are widely available and can
be quick flavored with a bit of olive oil and your choice of
herbs/spices, then nuked.

He said he has identified a personal shortcoming:
"...I am not very organized with cooking."

Now that it's identified, he can work on fixing it. I work at home. I
understand that sometimes, it's hard to plan ahead. But, if it happens a
lot, you need to deal with it differently.

*BUT*....... make sure that you take the meat *out* of the bag before
you put it in the m/w to Defrost....... otherwise you'll half cook it.

Hence the need to be able to defrost something quickly and efficiently.

Just because your house looks like it's snowing yellow, doesn't mean
that he has to have the same.

You have a problem.

Use yellow post-it notes and write a message to yourself to 'plan
ahead'.

Stick them on your forehead.
