Oh darn, and I so thought it was perfect for you!

How about:

Mounds Martini

1-3/4 oz Goldenbärr Chocolate Vodka
1/2 oz Kalani Coconut Liqueur

Combine in an ice filled shaker; shake and strain into a chilled
cocktail glass.

TammyM, really, I'll stop now....

Please do.

I can't do gaggingly sweet cream drinks anymore. Not since that
weekend on the delta, years ago, when we all got smashed on mudslides.
Oh, the pain. The only time I take vodka is in bloody marys.

I've had close. Basically a Lillet martini with more than a lemon
twist. I often prefer a martini w/ lemon twist. I went
through a bottle of Lillet. It was ok, but not to my taste. I'm
strictly an M&R dry fan. Straight, on the rocks is one of my Summer
faves. I will give the orange bitters thing a try, but I'll have to get some
orange bitters. I only have angustora and peychaud's. I didn't
realize bitters was commonly associated with the gin martini. I may
try a pink gin. Peychaud's sounds like the one for that.

Would you like an olive in that?

Heard from a very traditional bartender, at a posh country club when
some philistine ordered a chocolate "martini" ah classic moments.

Let's just say that the look on the customers face was of complete
disgust, while saying no. Not thinking that Sir Trendy got the
bartender's point. Bartender proceeded to follow it up with, but
martinis have olives.

Kudos to the bartender, when I ordered a Beefeater gimlet he knew how
to make it and didn't ask if I wanted it made the "right" way with
vodka.

It's all your fault, Tammy!

Not the replies, the fact I went out and bought some sapphire and M&R,
both on sale. The problem is, I've been using public transportation
lately and I'm completely pooped humping around two large bottles of
M&R and a 1.75L bottle of gin (plus other groceries). It may be days
before I regain enough strength to actually mix a martini. (or not

Nah, just being silly. It was an opportunity to recount a fun tale
about designer cocktails, thank you for providing it. New, not
really, just have been lurking more than posting for the past couple
of years.

Actually, I don't keep hard liquor around, anymore. Haven't had any
gin for 2-3 months. I always have a bottle of vermouth on hand for
cooking. But, they both just happened to be on sale. Being a cheap
sumbitch, I don't buy anything unless it's on sale.

Lillet red (rouge to you) with a twist is sublime.

If you know how to drink, you know enough to call it a choclatini, not
a chocolate "martini". In any case, don't order them in bars - they
are play drinks for play times (parties).

He was drinking pink gins last night, Tammy. And he is probably going
to blame it all on you.

I tried making Delilahs with Sapphire, and I must admit, I like them
better made with Plymouth.

Christine, a gin heretic.
