Glad you made it safe and sound.

Sorry I missed your party. I didn't expect you two to kill time online.

How was dinner?

Several of the cook-in's I've been to the computer is on and someone
sits down and posts a running commentary on who-what-etc. of the
affair. It's a sharing thang, Why don't you organize one, and we'll
all come and show you how it's done! (And bring good food and drink,
too)

We told you we were going to be in the chat channel! Of course Christine
had to do all the typing; I can't get my fingers to work on those tiny
keyboards.

Dinner was good! We had fun... well, I know I did Had to take a cab
home kind of fun! LOL Chris is heading out shortly. She's going to stop
by Penzey's on her way out of town. (I can't go, I'd be too tempted to
spend money I don't have!) As it is I have to call a cab to go get my car
back. And my cheese grater, dammit!

Did you get everything back? They were keeping it in the office for
you.

I stopped at Penzeys, and bought more than I should have, as usual.
Got tiny little bottles this time, and in a few weeks, I will get some
of those bags for refills.
I now have Trinidad seasoning again. I do like that seasoning mix. I
like to put it on my porno chicken as a variation.

It took me 10 hours to get to Knoxville today. Everyone was having
wrecks today, and I-40 was shut down for miles. A very long detour,
which took way over an hour. Then I got Nashville around rush hour,
and tried to decipher my way through that city.. I think the planners
for the interstates there must have been on drugs, cause there is no
rhyme or reason for the way they are configured.

I had meant to stop today for a lunch in Nashville at one of the
places listed in Roadfood. However, since my schedule was way off, I
didn't do it. Stopped and got a fast food burger later on....as I was
running way late on getting here.

Tomorrow though.... hmmmmm .... I will be traversing up through
eastern TN, and then up into the mountains of VA via 81, then over on
I-64 to Richmond.

Any of you all know if there are any good food stops along the way???

I bought some small magnetized cans. I bought them for their size,
not the magnet, but I now keep some of the herbs/spices/blends I use
most on the fridge. Better for 'em anyway as the spice cab is too
near the cooker.

Porno chicken?! I'm eager to hear what you think of the Trinidad.
It's easily my favorite Penzeys blend.

That's right, you and Lin met up the other night! Is there a thread
on this that I missed. I've been in San Josie on bidness for the past
several days.

Yes, I got it back. And the fun thing is the guy didn't charge me for the
cab ride home. I gather while no prude he felt it was prudent for me not to
drive

However on the cab drive back to get my car and my stuff, a different driver
took me on a rather convoluted route which effectively doubled the fare.
And that one wasn't a freebie. As Andy would say, DA BUM!

That's the main reason I didn't accompany you, Christine. I'm very well
stocked on herbs & spices but I just *knew* I'd buy stuff I didn't need.
Walking into the place and smelling everything is too great a temptation!

You've got that right! I really dislike driving or even being a passenger
on the interstates which is why John and I try to find non-interstate routes
when we travel. But then again, we aren't usually on a deadline as you
were.

You may already in Richmond by now. I'm not familiar with that route though
so I can't help.
