Yes, they were indeed! I find a lot of details like this running together in
my
childhood memories. But then, I was out catching frogs with my father. My
sister is the one who sat in the kitchen and learned how to cook.

Well, at least you weren't outside catching frogs and then going
inside and learning how to cook... My mother always used that book
too - the red plaid picnic tablecloth cover sticks out in my mind
too. I think she still has it, lord knows what type of condition its
in. Luckily for all of us Better Homes and Gardens has all of their
recipes saved and stored on their website. I love it, I baked a
blueberry buckle this morning off a recipe i got off their yesterday
and it was great.
