Default muffin question

my bf made a batch of corn muffins that oozed over the sides, made
one
huge muffin essentially, and took a good extra seven minutes to bake.
I think he added extra sugar, would that have caused that? It's a
cooks illustrated recipe that I've made before and never had a
problem
with.

My guess would be too much baking powder. Is it possible he confused "tsp"
with "tbs" ?

that's the weird thing, I was here and he didn't. the only difference
was the amount of sugar. this happened to him the last time he made
muffins too. maybe it's his touch. ;-)

Maybe he made too much for the size of the muffin pan's cups.

Perhaps the size of your muffins, trade in your A cups for D cups.
