Default FoodTV Awards 2007 tomorrow. 8-O

Anyone else just "besides themselves" anxious about tomorrow's FoodTV
Awards 2007???

What a network. They've been hyping this award show like it's more
important than the Academy Awards.

Anyone notice the predictable lack of a live studio audience? See fans
lining up for red carpet viewing?

Here's how it'll probably play out:

Lagasse gives Ray an award. Ray gives Brown an award, Brown gives Sandra
Lee an award, Lee gives Brown another award, who quickly awards Paula Dean
and after the break, Dean presents another award to Lagasse and then it
just gets duller and duller until it fizzles out altogether BUT not before
"The Greatest Recipe of FoodTV for 2007" award goes to Sandra Lee for Ramen
Noodle Oriental Flavor soup with saltines. Her acceptance speech, "Your
guests will think you've been cooking ALL day."

Can't wait for after-awards party coverage from "How to Boil Water's"
house.

Critics will be quick to point out that no American Iron Chefs won awards
AND how unfortunate that nobody noticed.

Have any of them ever done more than a dozen shows? ..... other than Iron
Chef.

I dumped the Food Network about a year ago when I dumped my old satellite
provider. It was part of a bundle with the women's network and a bunch of
other stations devoted to health, love and cooking. But it was the same 4
or 4 shows on 3-4 times per day and repeated every few weeks. A few months
ago I switched back. I missed some of the cooking shows, and besides,
Nigella was on. After seeing two of her shows three times each I dumped it
again.

On the plus side.... I got a new television set the other day and since it
was high definition I opted to upgrade my satellite to HD. They are
installing it tomorrow.
