I can take 'em or leave 'em, but there is nothing like a properly made
split pea soup with ham bone stock. :-)

Dad does not normally care much for peas, but specifically requests that
I add them to fried rice...

They are eaten from time to time, but are not a regular part of our
diets. Too starchy.

LOL... in my day (way, way, way back then) it was brussels sprouts!!

maybe it was because my mum always cooked them to about an hour past
al dente... YUK!
On the pea theme, I always add a scant tsp of sugar to my peas before
cooking, no salt which makes them toughen.
We love peas in this house!

Same here. I love peas any old way. As a side, mushed into mashed potatoes,
split pea soup, floaters, etc.!

Oh, man..... not only did I have to sit for (at least) an hour staring
at my plate, I went to bed if I didn't eat it. I still hate peas.

Peas were a rare treat in our house when I was a kid -- too much
trouble to shell the bloody things, and they weren't available very
often at the end of the road anyway. I still enjoy them. :-)

Cheers, Phred.

I like to toss in fresh mint leaves just before the peas leave the pan.
THEN you add them to your smashed potatoes. How DO people keep peas on
their forks without mashed potatoes?
