I've invited friends around for a pizza/garlic&cheese calzone/red wine night and they have been quite shocked that they could sit there drinking red wine and watch me make (the best pizzas around, apparently!!) it from scratch to the table in 25mins!! Splattered with red wine and tomato sauce stains, but still legible :-) Basic Pizza Dough 2-1/4 cups plain flour 1 packet *active* dry yeast (not Instant, it must be active) 1/4 teaspoon sugar (I just use white) 1 cup warm water 2 tablespoons oil (I use olive oil) Put water, yeast, and sugar in a container, mix, and then cover and place in a warm spot. Sift flour into a large bowl. When water has foamed, pour into flour, add the oil and mix. When it forms a dough, put onto floured surface and knead for 10mins till smooth and elastic. Cut into two to make two pizza bases, or one pizza base and two large calzones. I usually put it on a pizza tray in the oven (once covered with toppings!!) for the first 10 or so minutes, then when it's 3/4 cooked, I slip it off the tray straight onto the wire oven racks to brown the base properly. I have a plethora (as opposed to slew) of pictures of the pizza in the
making, along with the roasted garlic, prawn and cheese calzones. I had to use a different recipe, as I went to the pantry and found I didn't have any Active dried yeast left, so had to use instant. It turned out much the same. The whole lot was just enough to feed the 4 of us........ and the beers and red wine helped :-) The pics should be up by the end of the day!! -- Peter Lucas Brisbane Australia "People sleep safely in their beds because rough men stand ready in the night to do violence to those who would do them harm" -- George Orwell |

You'd think it'd be sweet with chocolate/condensed milk/ nuts.. but the grated cheese and butter offsets it so it's both salty and sweet. And also squishy and moist cos of the crumpet-like exterior. So divine. It's a traditional Indonesian snack so I reckon an Indonesian restaurant near you might have it? My Aussie friends LOVE it too ![]() Beverly |

Or move to Sydney and get great food ![]() Nah, growing older and am beginning to come to the sad realisation I'm not growing upwards anymore, and more likely sideways. Actually started investigating gyms this week but they're way too $$! B |

Welcome to the real world :-) Take up skydiving......... it'll keep you poor, and hungry, but satisfied...... and at the same time it'll work you to the bone ;-P Other than that.......... *don't* pay for gyms. Form a jogging group with all your cousins/relatives...... there's safety in numbers :-) -- Peter Lucas Brisbane Australia ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!
