Default Mundial brand

I'm in the market for a set of kitchen knives. How does Mundial
compare with other more commonly sold brands? They have several lines,
such as "Elegance" and "Traditional." Is there a difference between
them? Are these knives "high-carbon stainless steel?" Is that the
preferred material in kitchen knives? There's a site called "Cutlery &
More" that is offering a set of 4 Mundials (10" carver, 8" chef's, 6"
boning and 4" utility) for about $85 and they throw in a free 10"
diamond steel. Sounds like a deal if the knives are worth it. Also,
given the 4 knives listed above, are these 4 a reasonable "set?" I.e.
would you suggest I add another knive to make the set more useful? I'm
afraid I'm an amateur (very!) and may be asking some stupid questions
here.

Any comments?

My local restaurant supply store sells Mundial knives, stamped blades and
"plastic" handles, suitable for food service use. I have a slicer, a bread
knife, and a diamond steel. They are quite satisfactory. And they can go
in the dishwasher. Reasonably priced too.

You might look at the Forstner-Victornox knives also stamped with composite
handles. I have the 10 inch chef knife and it too is quite satisfactory.
Forstner does well in Cook's Illustrated comparisons.
