Where's the pea soup with hints of lavendar? They talked
about that on tv this morning.

Yeesh! Anything but the crap in the above list. Chorizo Pazole?
Apple Chipotle Sauce? What the Hell are "micro greens". Some
cuisines lend themselves to fusion, but Mexican isn't one of them.

Not bloody likely. Being a traditional Brit, the Queen does not like
spicy foods.

Whatever. When Laura Bush described the soup live on GMA,
I'm pretty sure she wasn't making it up.

Why on earth would they serve so many peppery dishes to someone whose
native food does not include much heat? When we host most Europeans we
notice they are very sensitive to hot foods, i.e. they don't LIKE them.

Oh *shit*!!!! You didn't tell me Laura *Bush* was describing something
the Queen may or may not be offered!!!! (Which twin is Laura??)

But hey......... going from what the majority of people on this
newsgroup think and say...... should we trust what Laura says???

Should we????

(Quite apart from the fact that Pea Soup with 'hints' of lavendar would
taste like shit......)

Well, the reporter interviewing her is *attending* the dinner, she'll
probably notice the soup.

That's not the Queen! That menu was served in 2005.

whitehouse.gov needs to update their website.

It was billed as mostly a "typically American menu" with a couple things
to remind the Queen of home. As with the ridiculous fiasco at the
airport for her arrival 'welcoming', I detect more that a few nuances of
snubbery (sic) and disrespect in the White House arrangements for this
visit. What is surprising is that George didn't try to get the Queen to
help him cut brush at the ranch. Given the Bush's unfortunate
entanglements with alcohol, I wonder--- do they imbibe or do they
refrain as their guests are served spirits? Does anyone know?

Not much on any real vittles I'd actually want to eat but with
whatever is there everything would go better with beer... that's
definitely a texmex redneck menu.

Not only that, but I seriously doubt this is the menu for the state
dinner. I read somewhere this weekend, that the Queen doesn't like
spicy food, and this would definitely NOT fit the bill.

I guess we all realize that we've been had. I understand the real menu is

Pea soup
Filet of sole
Roast lamb with baby vegetables
White cake shaped like a rose

This sounds like a put-on, too. It's just what I would choose if I were
asked to name the most mundane food in each category.

Actually, I think this is what they're serving at the Senior Citizans Center
today.

And drink his water out of a bottle. Apparently, that really happened
until Colin Powell steered him in the right direction by finally pouring
it into W's glass. Also, let's hope he doesn't speak with his mouth
full this time.

The real menu is on MSNBC (I think that's where I saw it) and sounds
much more likely.

Pea soup with lavender doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Those
people's taste buds must be completely jaded or else they have no
taste buds at all.

I'm not interested in cooking with flowers, either, but plenty of people
do. But then, you can stay far away from me if you cook with curry,
too. No accounting for taste, however one wants to take that.

She doesn't like shellfish, either...

I remember reading in Kitty Kelly's book _Nancy Reagan_ that when ERII
visited California in 1984 the Reagans hosted a dinner on a Hollywood
soundstage for them. The menu included, "...cold, sticky, seafood pot
pies (the Palace had DISTINCTLY stated the Queen does not eat
shellfish) and sour wines...". The dinner was something of fiasco.
Pretty funny...

Nancy Reagan was at the state dinner last night...

That's also the visit during which all kinds of diplomatic strings had
to be pulled by the State Department, etc. in order to get Frank
Sinatra an invitation to a party on the British Royal Yacht
"Britannia", the Brits were NOT havin' it...lol.

I believe it was the Queen Mother who was notoriously fond of gin, not
Elizabeth II.

Yep. Nasty, just like I said. It's no problem, really, we just like
different things. You like deep-fried fish sticks and pie floaters, and I
don't. There's no need for you to get your knickers in a knot about it, you
washed-out dole bludger.

Once again, you show us that you are a simplistic moron without a clue
and ready to decry *anything* that is said by someone who doesn't kiss
your fat arse.

But before you go back into the idiot bin, where you belong, here's some
info on Pearl Perch because you quite obviously did *not* bother to look
it up..... otherwise you wouldn't be foaming at the mouth as you are.

Yeah, you like deep fried turkeys, deep fried peanut butter sandwiches,
deep fried mars bars, scrapple etc, etc.

I've lived in the States, I've tried your 'food'. Until you have the two
brain cells required to be able to make an informed decision on Aussie
food (ie, to have at least *tried* it), you best keep your feet in your
mouth where they have resided for quite some time.

ROFLMAO!!!! My, my....... you sound like a petulant little child,
screaming and crying and trying to insult me!!

You've shown everyone *again* that you're a clueless twonk.

Get off your fat arse Willy, and go and try some of the food before you
scream and rant about it.
