There has been a post popping around as to how to salvage a jar of
peanut butter than a mouse had gotten into. Troll bait, surely,

That lone voter that posted, "I can't answer this question -- my
choice is not listed" -- what other choice is available in peanut
butters (not sesame butter, cashew butter, or some other nut-based
spread) beyond creamy and crunchy?

The "crunchier", the better IMO.

Maybe that person is allergic but would eat it if it was an option. I
am also guessing that the "I don't eat it" people *don't like* it and
that's why they don't eat it.

Some peanut butters come with jam or chocolate swirled in it for one thing.
Some folk make their own for another.

Then it should have been answered, "I don't eat it" -- for the
very obvious reason. The question was very straight-forward
"Creamy or Crunchy Peanut Butter?"

Those can still be answered: creamy (if you make your own, is it a
fine paste) or crunchy (is it a much-coarser grind?) The combo
jars also market their product "creamy peanut butter" so there's
no bow-out there either.

It's an all purpose, sometimes not fully fitting Chatty Cathy
CYA disclaimer. You know, like the radio ads which say
how affordable it is for postal workers to buy a new
Mercedes ending with "certain restrictions apply".

Maybe they only use all natural organic peanutbutter that's freshly
ground as they need it with no additives of any kind. That's neither
creamy nor chunky, but gritty.

You are almost correct. In this instance the CYA disclaimer is just
there to fend off the "You should have had this or that answer" remarks.

Funny, these surveys somehow remind me of a soccer match: There are

Crunchy is smooth peanut butter with chopped peanuts added.

I had some of that <insert cowfeed_descriptive> - waybackwhen -
and found it as enjoyable as a bowl of grits. <G>

The "mill" at my local Gene's Fine Foods allows you to set the
grind very similar to a coffee mill. If I were to "make it myself"
with my Cuisinart, it'd be chunky without the extra step of adding
chopped peanuts. <shrug>
