Default What's your favorite meal?

I don't mean what you eat for the meal, but rather, do you have a preference for
breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

Prior to being diagnosed with diabetes, I wasn't much for breakfast. Still can't eat
first thing in the morning. Lunch was not much better, but I loved cooking a good
dinner. As I've had to adjust what I eat, I've noticed that things have reversed a
little. I have become much more of a breakfast person...but have little appetite for
dinner most days.

Which meal do you look forward to the most?

Breakfast, the biggest meal of the day which can be any of my favorite foods.

Dinner. There's more variety of food I like, and I feel like eating it
then. It's normal to drink wine with dinner, less so with lunch, and
downright weird with breakfast. There's something wonderfully decadent
about eating dinner in a fancy restaurant alone with a book. One can
overeat and collapse into sleep afterwards. Dinner is followed by
dessert. I love dessert.

I love your thought process even although I could forego the dessert.

I enjoy breakfast, but not a traditional breakfast. For me a breakfast is
leftover dinner stuff.. So the answer to this question might be is - I
love dinner and love having it for breakfast.

I thought of that, how much I prefer hot soup or fish in cream sauce for
breakfast. Much better than eggs or pancakes. But then I realized that
dinner for breakfast is generally left over, and the only leftovers that
are better than the orignals are things like stew. I mean, cold pizza
is good, but hot pizza piping hot from the oven is better.

Meatballs that have sat overnight in tomato sauce are improved.

In the words of Warren Zevon, "Enjoy every sandwich".

I realize that may not answer your question....

Dinner. Breakfast is rather boring for me. I have the family gall bladder
and cannot handle bacon and eggs. It is usually a bowl of porridge, a latte
and perhaps some toast with jam or honey. Most days I skip lunch, grabbing
a coffee and a snack somewhere along my travels. When I do have lunch it is
not very exciting, usually just a sandwich. Dinner is the meal that I put
some effort into.

I like all three, but enjoy long lunches with coworkers the most.

Your family shares a single gall bladder? How long do you get to keep
it for?

I like breakfast the most on the weekends when I can gluttonize and not have
to worry about feeling sleepy afterward.

I like supper the most during the week when the sleepy after effects are
welcome.

Lunch has been just something to get me through the day for the last few
years. It used to be my favorite meal, but I rather overdid it at times and
it's not conducive to building houses.

I must say, my favorite meal is my next one. <G>

I prefer a late lunch (I only eat once a day, anyway), but my husband likes
a late dinner. If I decide to wait until he eats, I generally don't end up
eating because I don't like to eat late.

Lunch. I'm not much of a breakfast person. I am usually up at 5:30
a.m. through the week to get to the gym. Can't eat prior to the gym,
obviously, and a good workout temporarily kills what appetite I had.
(Could also be the liter of water I drink in the course of a workout.)
I usually have some fruit mid-morning, but by the time lunch rolls
around, I'm ready to lock and load. My boss and I go out for lunch
most days and we generally go to nice restaurants. Today I had a great
Cobb salad and a cup of cream of asparagus soup with a hot roll. The
DH generally gets home too late for me to eat dinner (I have acid
reflux that seems to peak about 7:00 p.m. even *wth* Nexium). I cook
most Saturdays, dishes that the DH can reheat/finish off when he gets
home. An example of which is:

@@@@@ Now You're Cooking! Export Format

Vegetable And Beef Soup

soups and stews

1 1/2 pounds stew meat
beef soup bone
2 onions; chopped
3 potatoes; cut in 1/2" cubes
4 carrots; sliced
3 stalks celery; sliced
2 small cans tomato sauce
1 14 1/2 oz. tomatoes; peeled and chopped
1/2 cup barley

Boil stew meat and soup bone in 4 quarts water until cooked through,
about 1 hour. Remove soup bone. Add remaining ingredients and salt and
pepper to taste. Simmer another hour or until all vegetables are
tender.

Do try to find pot barley, not pearled barley, as the latter turns to
mush in soups. Tastes best after it has rested for a day.

Breakfast, and not cold cereal, either.

I could eat breakfast three meals a day.

Fruit, eggs, pancakes, French toast, omelets, bacon, sausage,
pastries, coffee cake, mmmmm.

Brunch, definitely. You can eat anything you want, and you don't have to
get up early in the morning to eat it.

Second place would probably be afternoon tea, if I ever had it. :-)

I have the kind of job where I don't have to be in at a specific time. I
work roughly 8-9 to 5-6 weekdays. When I go to work, I usually just eat
a bagel with some cream cheese or one of those egg sandwiches from a
convenience store on my way to work.

On weekends, my favorite meal is definitely breakfast. During the week,
I am always rushing to work. On weekends, I can usually take my old
sweet time eating breakfast. I live in a large apartment complex (600
units) and we have a luncheonette in one of the buildings. For the past
year or so, I go to the luncheonette and I eat breakfast there while
reading the newspaper.

I usually chat with whatever neighbor is also there and then when my
food is served, I spread out the editorial section of the paper on the
table next to me and I read that while I eat. I usually order just
scrambled eggs, toast, and potatoes; no meat. That's my favorite meal of
the week, actually.

During the week, I really don't have a favorite meal time.
