Default Hello, rec.food.cooking!!!

Greetings, RFC!!!

I'm so glad to have found this group! I used to be quite active in
this group in the mid-90s, and even attended a couple of East-coast
cook-ins!

I love to cook, I love to eat, and I love the Internet!

Cheers,

Carolina

Welcome back.

Where are you, and is there anything interesting in the local groceries?

In 2001, I moved from Indiana to DC, and in late 2005, I got married
and moved to CT.

Husband and I hit Balducci's in Ridgefield a couple of days ago. But,
if we really want to have a ball, we go to Zabar's in NYC.

What do you buy in Balducci's?

And what does Zabar's have which they don't? I lived in NYC for about
ten years; but that was in the 1960s. And I never went to Zabar's.

Top-notch produce, raw milk cheeses, cured meats, un-homogenized milk,
fantastic desserts, and chocolate.

Hand-cut smoked salmon. A much larger selection of cured meats than
anywhere else. Coffee.

I do not have children, and don't intend to have any, so I have never
breast-fed, and never will. Therefore I do not find it appropriate to
have an opinion on the subject.
