Sun's finally come out in Oregon and it's a good thing...Today was the
kickoff of our volunteer fire dept's annual two day fundraising
rummage & bake sale. A big deal in our little neck of the woods.

Was tickled with the range of home-made goodies people brought in this
am - everything from marionberry pies to breads and killer cupcakes.
Baked my little heart out last night - 2 bundt cakes - lemon &
chocolate chip and a pan of chocolate chunk brownies.

Something for everybody and folks bought like mad...leaving us with
just crumbs for Sunday.... the reason I'm finishing up another baking
siege...double batch blueberry muffins, lemon bars, and 2 more choc
chip Bundt cakes, which still have to cool before I can glaze 'em &
toddle off to bed.

Can't think of the last time I baked this much stuff - actually a lot
of fun. Got a kick out of one volunteer who brought a couple of dozen
"Ranger Cookies" people just raved over. Bumped into her at the
grocery store tonight & asked her if she'd share her recipe. She
giggled & admitted that they were from COSTCO - she'd given a quick
run through the over to give then a home-made "brown." So much for
country cooking!
