What to do? See http://www.neworleans.com/forum/inde...ic,4090.0.html Shakey's still exists. They used to be here in St. Louis when I was a kid, but haven't been for 30+ years. http://www.shakeyspizza.ph/ Their pizza was not very good. This place, Shakespeare's Pizza, is great: http://www.shakespeares.com/ --Bryan |

Never heard of the other products, probably local/regional brands? Cathy |

Halo, Stopette, Babbo, etc. were popular in the 50's. gloria p |

Sealtest is still in business, its main plant is here in Peoria, IL, but their ice cream is packaged as Prarie Farm brand now. Later, BobSlo |

I think it has since gone our of business, but man was it tasty. -L. |

I'd be happy to send you some. |

What to do? See > http://www.neworleans.com/forum/inde...ic,4090.0.html You miss Sealtest? It was average, at best. Any decent grocery store and most gas station/c-stores carry at least one brand that makes Sealtest easy to forget. |

Remember tooth powder instead of paste. That is all we had at our house when I a little one. It wasn't until the late 50s that my mother started buying tooth paste. Up to that point there were more varieties of tooth powder on the store shelves than paste. |

What to do? See http://www.neworleans.com/forum/inde...ic,4090.0.html Some of these brands are available here in the Midwest. I miss Rockwood mints (don't make them any more - vital for a cookie recipe I have) or a sweet-tart kind of candy my son is hankering for - "Tiger Bites." N. |

It was the first pizza I ever ate. I was thirteen and wouldn't see commercial pizza for four years. If I remember, there was some flour with instructions on how to make the dough, a can of pizza sauce and some dry parmesan looking cheese to spread on it. I certainly didn't have a pizza pan and am left wondering what I put the dough on. I don't remember. But it might be fun for my oldest granddaughter, although she has watched grandpa make a real pizza. Well... my definition of real pizza. leo -- <http://web0.greatbasin.net/~leo/> |

Every once in awhile I have to have a pizza with only sauce, parmesan cheese and hamburger. I use homemade crust and good sauce and cheese though! Ms P |

What to do? See > http://www.neworleans.com/forum/inde...ic,4090.0.html Rinso went off the market here in New Zealand in the late '80s (I think). It didn't work very well in cold water, and a lot of NZ'ers use cold water washes to save electricity. Late to this thread, but where is good ole Chef Boyardee's box pizza
mix? When I was in (boarding) high school at Lakenheath American HS in Suffolk,.England, we used to go over to the PX and get this stuff to make back in the dorm. This used to be one of my guilty pleasures...up until I couldn't find it anymore :-( Stuff was like bad marinara smeared cardboard with bad cheese - great stuff!! How can I possibly repay you for this wonderful link? OTOH, maybe lingering in memory was more tasty. Stay tuned to this station.
