Ginger does grow here; I've got white ginger (not the cooking kind) in my
yard, now. It should be blooming in about 2 months! yay!

Are we talking perishables?

onions
garlic
celery
cheeses, various
milk
half&half
red or green peppers
tomatoes
butter
olive oil

Plus all the hundreds of non-perishables.

Hmmmmm, I think it's cheese. Or butter. Or sesame oil.
Or..........garlic, onion, fresh or frozen veggies, shoyu, vinegar,
tortillas, salsa, sour cream and homemade chicken stock. Wow, I think I
just created a meal or two out of that alone! LOL.

We don't use shortening, but the rest are key.

Plus honey and various seeds for bread.
frozen chicken breast.

Along with the oft mentioned garlic and onions, I'd add potatoes which can
be baked, grilled, boiled or fried I don't tend to keep celery around as
I don't use it that much; it just spoils. I keep Penzey's bell pepper
flakes on hand as I don't use bell peppers much, either.

I keep carrots on hand for my lovebird so if I need carrots I usually have
some. Olive oil, definitely, but also just good old fashioned Wesson (corn)
oil or Canola (gasp) for quick pan-frying. Assorted frozen vegetables for
when I can't get fresh in season (or if the price is outrageous). Butter,
milk, eggs, cheeses. There's a lot more, I'm sure. Oh, and salt & pepper.

First - the coffee
Second - the half and half
Third - the bagel.

Otherwise, don't talk to me.

Sheesh. I married one of those. We lasted until death did us part only
because he made the coffee and kept his mouth shut until I spoke my first
word.

I make the coffe, then bring a cup back to the bedroom and softly say,
"Coffee ____." The word, "coffee," will wake her up even if it's
whispered.

Every morning, I wake up in a good mood. Maybe I have a good temper, or
it could be insanity, who knows. When my children were teenagers, I
tried not to chat too much, or my youngest son would look at me through
his eyebrows, with a big frown on is face and say "Cheer down, Mom." I
guess everybody is not a morning person.

"Cheer down" LOLOL!!!

Morning is the bestest time of day!!! All of yesterdays worries are wiped
away by dreams and the brain is fresh for new ideas, etc. In my world,
anyway.

I never was a morning person... It's one reason I think that I am so
happy working night shifts. ;-)

I do, however, clean and prepare the Coffee Maker in the break room when
I get to work, and turn it on about 20 minutes before the 6 am morning
crew comes in.

It's deeply appreciated by the coffee drinkers. <G>

I gave up coffee for the most part about 15 years ago on the advice of
the Gastroenterologist. My night shift partner and I drink Iced Earl
Grays now. ;-d Good stuff!

Heinz Ketchup. I know that's not news, but I refuse to run out of the
stuff. I always have at least one extra bottle at home and at work.

KC Masterpiece "original" barbecue sauce
Huy Fong Sriracha sauce
Beaver brand hot horseradish sauce
Ranch dressing
Johnny's seasoned salt
Curry powder
Onions
And yes... garlic

Actually, mixing the horseradish sauce 50/50 with the sriracha produces
what I call "Shock and Awe sauce". You have to be in the right mood for it.

KCM and Ranch dressing together make a good sandwich sauce. I thought
I'd invented it, but when I went to the KC Masterpiece website I found
that somebody had beat me to it.

Life is like that, sometimes.

We were talking about all this in chat last night.

My list is milk, seltzer, wine and heavy cream. I start to go into
panic mode if those start getting low. Oh, garlic and olive oil as
well.
