Are you a Scientologist? Being a spammer and
from Clearwater, Florida (worldwide headquarters
of Scientology) suggests you are.

In which case, the "hang on to your wallets"
warning sign should be turned on.

Hey Smitty, please include a snippet of the post to which you are replying
so that we can see who the asshole is without reading the whole thread.

Don't worry, Smitty, I didn't think you were spamming and
I doubt anyone else did, either.

Hmmm? I did.

"Wandered on to this great website while looking up foods..."

How many posts (from relatively unknown posters) begin this way. The it
comes...the link to the website.

Sounds like spam, even if it isn't.

like I share it as it may have interest to others in our age group.I
know being new is a trial by fire, but thats understandable..as everyome
was new at one time or another.Hope to comtribute many recipes and ideas
as time goes on.

Sounds like you can tell us a few things about cooking, Smitty! And an
artist,
too. Any murals still around, I hope?

Cool. I really like Morristown. Last time I was there I went to the armory
for a cat show, and had lunch at the Famished Frog afterwards.

I had a chicken/sausage/penne dish with tomatoes. I wish I
knew how to recreate the chicken texture, I forgot all about
trying to make that.

I'm not saying that one was spam, but you're right that it did have
three of the common markings:

1. An unknown poster

2. using Google Groups

3. "stumbles onto" a site and posts a link.

Those aren't *certain* predictors of spam, but in combination they're
sure pretty reliable over the long haul.

Of course, I didn't see it until someone quoted it, since it was a
Google Groper.

Smitty, you might try a little better spacing in your replies. They'll be
easier to read. And another thing, sometimes your replies are in pale grey
which (why that happens with gmail I don't know) usually indicates a
signature line rather than an actual reply to a post. Very hard to read.
And I knew you weren't spamming. I've seen a number of posts from you over
the last few weeks
