I've compiled information from both the web link I posted with my inquiry
and all of your replies (except for yours, Pat/Cyrambers - that will be a surprise!). I talked with him and he said the only locally grown corn is white (Silver Queen) but he thinks he might be able to find some field corn. I teased him, he might have to buy a quantity large enough to have a couple of cows out on the golf course behind their house. He thought that was a funny and advanced the idea they might be able to reduce the greens fees but putting around cows could be a problem! LOL He thinks maybe regular yellow corn, dried, will work if he can't find field corn in a small quantity. Turns out it wasn't his grandmother who made this for him. It was a great uncle he was visiting. This uncle had lost part of an arm in a threshing machine of some sort. You've heard about pirates with hooks, of course. He said this uncle had a short hook (knife) at the end of his prothsteses on the outer side and a longer fork on the inside! Talk about ingenuity! ![]() Anyway, thanks to everyone. I'm going to print all the information and drop it in the mail to him. The information is much appreciated. Jill |
